About Us

The Prairie Gold

Story

Prairie Gold is Canada’s premier potato company specializing in packing fresh potatoes and manufacturing dehydrated potato granules. As a potato packer and potato granule manufacturer in Western Canada, we serve customers locally and internationally through our potato services and products. We strive to develop and maintain long-term relationships with our customers, especially our local potato growers without whom we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without their unwavering commitment and support.

A 50+ Year Legacy in

Southern Alberta

We’ve had a long heritage of serving customers through our fresh pack and dehydrated divisions. Prairie Gold Produce was established in 1970 as Vauxhall Foods Limited by a group of Southern Alberta potato growers, to complement their existing fresh potato grading operation at the time (Pak-Wel Produce Ltd.) a privately owned Canadian company with corporate offices in Calgary, AB.

Vauxhall is located in southern Alberta, Canada; about 1 hour by road northeast of Lethbridge and about 2.5 hrs. south from Calgary, with good access to the local, irrigated potato growers in the area.

Prairie Gold Granules -

Our Pride & Joy

Over the years, Prairie Gold Produce has quickly gained a reputation for providing the highest quality, dehydrated potato granules. The company still uses the add-back process, which was developed in the United States in the 40’s and 50’s to manufacture its granules. We take pride in being able to provide potato granules to the same customers for the last 25+ years.

Today, Prairie Gold Produce is a premier dehydrated potato granule company that offers various product specs to meet various end food applications for our customers, both existing and new alike.

Although we are rooted in our rich heritage, Prairie Gold Produce is forward thinking in our approach with our manufacturing facility being SQF certified and its granules Kosher and Halal approved.
